It is Anna's fifth year teaching art at Bellows Falls Union High School.  As a teacher it is her hope to impart her love for art and learning to her students.  Anna has been passionate about art for as long as she can remember, and has always loved sharing the creative process with others.  She believes it is important for today’s students to have an escape from the screen-heavy, technology-obsessed world we have all become so familiar with.  Learning to create and feel with one’s hands evokes a deep, primal, emotional response that cannot be found through technological or traditional educational methods.  Anna believes that reaching that deeper connection with the tasks at hand is crucial to mental and emotional development.

Anna believes that engaging in artistic exploration and development from an early age can be key in unlocking student potential in all subject areas.  Developing artistic skill can strengthen students’ perception, interpretation, creative problem solving, and expressive skills.  In addition to these educational objectives, it is her goal to provide a sense of security and freedom for her students.  In her classroom, Anna want students to feel comfortable expressing themselves without fear of judgment.  She strives to instill in her students an appetite for learning and a healthy questioning of the world around them.  Anna also hopes to foster their development of creativity. She believes these are some of the most important qualities a person needs to be successful in life.  It is Anna's hope that, through the act of teaching art, she can help to shape her students into caring, thoughtful, and successful young people.
